Apologies if this is old news for you
I've been avidly following Rorys progress across the Atlantic,now towards the end of his second week & having had at least two storm periods.Fantastic guy- it goes without saying that its huge bravery, commitment & skill,yet he's so unassuming about it all.And still no motor on board! Rory has contributed a lot of knowledge of these boats & I hope he gets the recognition he so richly deserves.Wish him a safe passage with fair winds ,plenty of supplies and all the rest he needs and that he still wants to sail Cookie when he safely reaches shore.

I've been following the race as well.
In the lead up to the race there were 7 Catamaran entries and 1 Proa, but Cookie is the only multihull that started.

It's been a hard race so far. From the 24 starters 6 are listed as retired.
According to RaceTrack (http://www.oceanracetrack.com/default.aspx) Rory and Cookie are in 5th place, but not all the competitors have their positions listed.

Judging from the automated race tracker, Rory is very nearly in Providence and should arrive Saturday if the fickle winds decide to grace him a little longer.

He is in excellent position be the first boat to arrive, which would be a great endorsement of the speed and seaworthiness of the Tiki 21. (Not to mention Rory's seamanship and good luck in completing a very tough Challenge!)

What I find amazing is that after 34 days and 3,000 miles the first 2 boats, a 21 ft catamaran and a 25 ft monohull, are only a few miles apart. When I've sailed round to a nearby cove with another boat, we've not been so close.
It's been a tough challenge this time. They've had a lot of bad weather and many retirements.
I think all the competitors have done a fantastic job. Well done everyone. Especially Rory in a tiny Tiki 21. The only catamaran in the event.

First 2 boats finish 2.5 hours apart. Rory second.
Third boat is not too far behind.
