Re: top of mainsail
Are you asking about the main and peak halyard rigging, the gaff arrangement, or both? This is an old picture, but it does show the rigging on my tiki 26: I prefer two single blocks at the masthead, rather than a single double block, because they allow the halyards to achieve a fairer lead.

Re: top of mainsail
both. I've bought this new tiki but I've never used this particular kind of sail. The owner just explained me something but now I have to rig the boat and I'm littlebit confused....

Re: top of mainsail
Jim, Just to clarify, are you asking about the standing rigging or the running rigging?

Re: top of mainsail
Here is my current aluminum mast head, prior to the rigging: From the lower left corner , you see the mast "crane" going through the mast. The shackle is for the forestay, and the plates on the side are for the shrouds. The sheave is for the jib halyard, with the shackle hole at the front of the crane for the light-air sail halyard. The shackle hole at the rear of the crane is for the peak and main halyards. Here it is with all the rigging after raising.

Re: top of mainsail
sorry if I'm late. I don't know the exact english name of "picco". Picco is the horrizontal peace of wood on top of the mast. How do you rig it? I've got an alluminium mast, more or less similar to the pictures.

Re: top of mainsail
Ahh, I see. . .Picco is gaff in English. I will try to find a good picture of the gaff rigging, Margutte. Here is a picture that shows the main halyard tied to the gaff slider: This is how the mainsail is raised. In the picture of my old masthead, you can see the line that runs at an angle to the gaff: that is the peak halyard. It raises and lowers the gaff, and so tightens/loosens the leech of the sail. It is tied to a loop of line that goes around the gaff; this loop of line is knotted to some hardware called a saddle: This saddle is screwed to the underside of the gaff.
