Find the right boat for you
Wharram Study Plans are intended to help you decide if a particular boat design is for you. They provide more detail than is available in the Design Book. The most important part of the Study Plan is the Materials List, which will list the major boat building materials requirements so you can cost your project in your own area. We feel sure that after studying these plans you will appreciate the quality and detail of the Building Plans.
Study Plans are available as a Hard Copy or Digital Download. Downloads are instant access and eliminate postage costs, which is particularly beneficial for international customers. Hard Copy Study Plans are being phased out and will no longer be available after stock has sold out, at which point they will be digital only. Get your hard copies while you can.

The early 'Wharrams', now known as the Classic Designs, are recognised as beautiful, safe boats - easy to build, and easy to sail. Many anchorages around the world are still graced by these Designs. They range from the 16ft Maui to the 51ft Tehini. They were the first range of Wharram catamarans, designed in the 1960s and 70s, based on the sea experience of James Wharram's pioneering ocean crossings. They are sturdy, very stable, but relatively basic in design. They are built using simple plywood construction over a backbone and bulkhead frame.Read more about Classic Designs
