Request to Admin to add topics from Old Forum
Hi I have just registered for the "new" forum. The "old" forum had a huge database of knowledge and contributions that collectively took many many hours and much thought from forum members to compile. It seems a great pity that this database is no longer available. Many of the questions that have been debated and answered by very knowledgeable and experienced Wharram sailors, will be asked again by new forum members. Are there any plans to bring the "old" forum topics into the "new" forum? (without the spam (;-)) Regards, Paul

Paul - great idea. Perhaps there could be a prominent link from this new live forum to be able to easily view the old forum pages?????? :geek: Cheers, Rory

What a scary thought, loosing all those conversations. Good news is it is still available here: http://www.wharram.eu/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl The only trouble is the search function no longer works making it hard to find specific information.

yes, i'm afraid its almost useless without a search function. What a shame to lose the benefit of all these conversations. John

Re: Request to Admin to add topics from Old Forum
I think the forum is not a priority in the larger scheme, and understandably. If a Wharram admin wants help migrating the old forum database I will give it a try. I'm not a pro, but I do have some experience. Also, I set up a forum at wharramsailor.com, mostly thinking I might replace the decrepit ones over at multihulls. One thing I will do if I ever decide to stop hosting it is make the database available so someone else can take it on. Some forums are locked from that happening, apparently.
