New member intro.. Bill Grooms. Tiki 31 Bell Aqua

Hi all, have recently bought myself 'Bell Aqua', a Tiki 31, and have just brought her round to the east coast (U.K.) from Dartmouth. This is my first Wharram, and I'm very impressed.

My intentions are to retire to the Canaries in her in four years time, but there are a number of things that need to be done.

A bit about me; I'm 61 years young, R.N marine mechanic in the '70s, first gaffer (little 21' cutter) in the '80s, Later sailed  single handed in my 40' ferro ketch to Canaries, then with non sailor girlfriend on to the West Indies. Sailed Ionion with Heavenly Twins cat.

Now have my Tiki. I havnt bought the build plans as Im not building from scratch.

There are a number of things that I would like to do, but hopefully you guys will keep me on the straight and narrow.

The first thing I did was move the mast back to the next beam. Weather-helm actually seems spot on now.

Many thanks in advance.

Bill

Hello Bill,

Hello Bill,

i really like your T31, your modifications are very nice, very good design.

Which height do you have now in your hulls ?

Do you have inside pictures ?

Did you moved back your mast ?

I ask you that because i hesitate to buy a second hand Tiki 31 cause i prefer theT 30 with only 3 beams, i think she's more easy to modify and cheaper too.

Cheers
