Re: rope lashings
We use 5 wraps of 1/4"(6mm) stay set(double braid dacron). Then we take 4 frapping turns with 6mm dynex. We use the dynex because it is more slippery and it is easier to get them forever more tight. David

Re: rope lashings

Re: rope lashings
We don't join them together. We wrap the 2/4" dacron around the beam and the lashing cleat and tie it off to itself. Then we take the 6mm dynex and knot it around one side of the beam lashing. We then use a long stick and wrap the dynex around the stick ,pad the end of the stick and use the stick for leverage to pull each frapping wrap forevermore tight. Then we knot the tail of the spectra off and tie up the balance of the tail to secure it. The frapping line needs to be longer than needed for the actual frapping so that there is enough length to pull on. David
