TW Assembly Time?
Does anyone with Tahiti Wayfarer experience have real numbers on how long it takes to lash hulls, crossbeams and decking together? (And if there is a Wharram representative listening, I'm curious whether modifications to support a less authentic but more convenient beam attachment system have been or could be considered?) The "several hours" reportedly required to assemble the boat off the trailer are a major obstacle. It makes anything shorter than a weekend outing impractical if you're towing your boat to the water. -- Rich in Colorado, USA

Re: TW Assembly Time?
I don't have one, but I'm wondering why not assemble the deck just once? I saw pic somewhere of someone trailering one with the hulls detached and the deck assembled laying across the top.

Re: TW Assembly Time?
Nice thought, weedeater. I think you'd have to stand it up partially to be trailer-legal (because the 10' beam exceeds legal width in the USA, IIRC) but it should be doable and would cut way down on assembly time. At a glance, it looks like you'd still have 18 beam-to-hull lashings to perform, but that's better than 18 lashings plus fixing all of those boards.
