LITTLE RIPPLE
HI, SULA11 WENT TO SEA AFTER A YEAR OF T.L.C. THE INCOMING TIDE LIFTED HER AT 6.45 PM ON SUNDAY AND SHE MOTORED OUT TO HER MOORING. I WAS AMAZED AT JUST HOW LITTLE EFFORD IS REQUIRED TO MOVE A TIKI 21 IN THE WATER. YOU CAN TOW HER WITH YOUR LITTLE FINGER. GREAT FUN WAS HAD AS WE DIDN'T REALLY HAVE ENOUGH WATER AND I PUSHED HER FOR A 1/4 MILE TO GET DEPTH. WE ALSO FOUND THAT THE TILLER BAR IS NOT REALLY A LOAD BEARING SURFACE; BUT A REPLACEMENT IS ALREADY BUILD. THE TRAMPOLINE WASN'T UP TOO MUCH EITHER AND A NEW ONE IS ON ORDER. SULA 11 IS A REPLACEMENT FOR A HEDLEY-NICHOLS 25FT CLIPPER TRIMARAN (AN AUSSIE DESIGN) WHICH GAVE GREAT SERVICE FOR 15 YEARS AND DIED IN A GREAT NORTH-EASTERLY GALE IN NOV 2005 ON A STONEY SHORE. SHE WAS OVER THIRTY AT THE TIME. MY GRATEFUL THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED TO DRIVE ON THE PROJECT (RORY ET AL) WHO WERE A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION AT ALL TIMES AND A MARVELOUS HELP. I'LL POST AGAIN ON PERFORMANCE ETC., WHEN WE HAVE HAD THE SHAKE DOWN CRUISE, IT'S GOING TO BE GREAT, REGARDS TO ALL, JACKIE.

Re: LITTLE RIPPLE
Hi Jackie, Great news that you are now afloat!!!!! There is nothing better. I took 8 months to build my Tiki 21 and the moment of launch felt as close as us guys can get to giving birth. To see the unmoving solid object of your boat take to the water for the first time and start to move with the slightest ripple - to me was like seeing it come alive for the first time. Very special. Enjoy!!! Cheers Rory & Cookie
