Can anyone tell me the best way to raise a mast on a Tiki 30' ?
Best Wishes Bob
I don't know if it is the best way, but last time i did the following:
I put a triangle made of wood om the stern of the boat to rest the mast on. Then it has already an angle around 20 degrees. Then i use the gaff near the foot of the mast as a lever. The front stay with jib roller fixted on the top.
then i make extra shrouds from the top from the mast to the ends of the mast beam. and extra shrouds from that place to the top of the gaff.
After that i use blocks ( heavy!) between the forstay and the bridle at the front and pull the mast up.
My mast might be a 100 kg so work slow and save. i like 2 persons to help.
