I've read somewhere that it is possible ro fix the beams with belts instead of ropes. Have you got some informations about it?

Re: ropes or belt
Hi,
here is a link where belts and ropes are compared.
http://www.austrian-wharrams.org/TRICKS/tricks_lashings.htm
I think lashing with belts only make sense if you will assemble and dissamble the boat many times per season.

Re: ropes or belt
hi,
in the link I have posted, you will find the report of a tiki30 with a chaved through belt-lashing.
I don´t have any experience with belt-lashings by my own, but I think some turns of rope and a simple knot are more simple and very efficient. It will take some time to lash with rope, but if you´ll do it only once ore twice a year I prefer the rope-way.
