We were just anchoring about 30 miles north of Bill Tait’s house, when he suddenly appeared in his fancy sport fish boat, Flying Fish having zoomed at between 30 and 40 knots up the ICW to see us. This Wharram community is maybe the best thing about owning a Wharram catamaran. With the several recent gatherings of Wharram owners and builders along the US East Coast, we have a remarkably talented, diverse, and fun loving community all nutty for Wharram Cats, eager to meet one aother, and relationships are just getting better and better. I can’t wait to see the boats assembled for the Florida Meet in Dec 3, 4, and 5 just south of the St Lucie Inlet behind buoy 19 near the wooden tower. Several are expected this year. There will be campers, folks arriving in Wharrams, folks arriving in other type boats while they finish their Wharram home build, and probably somebody will swim out the way they did in Martinique in 2002! We know about the folks from Vancouver, British Columbia up in Canada. And what about you? Will you come too?
We will be traveling to Britain for one week Nov 17 to 24 to visit Nev’s Mother who is poorly in hospital. At 94 she is quite poorly but still eager to know Nev is sailing and living fully. Such a Mother! She needs 24 hour care so we must clear her apartment. It is a sad time for us all, but I know Eileen will have that brave smile. Often confused, she walks again through the decades past when her life was full and good, so we take that lesson and hope to live now so we will also have good memories to keep by us in our old age. With this boat based life, we seem to have a good start on that.
We will be doing regular maintainence on the boat until we go. While we are away, we will be in touch by e mail only. Then we return and the phone will work again 401 261 7816. Best time is after 7pm or on week ends.
That’s all now.
Love, Ann and Nev
Peace Four
